Bob Young

Robert (Bob) Young, age 74, entered into the arms of God on Sunday, July 9, 2023. Bob was born in San Pedro, California on May, 23, 1949 to Don and Mary Young. He was the only son of four children. He is survived by his sisters, Cherry Grisham, Karen Bergman, and Nancy Smith--all living in California. Bob attended school in Palos Verdes, CA and after graduation attended college and graduated from LABC (The Master’s University) with degrees in History and Bible. He attended seminary for one year until it moved to Washington state. Bob and Roseann met while both were attending the University and were married on June 23, 1973. They have one son, Michael Young (Lisa Young) with grandchildren Emmy, Walker, Lincoln, Squire, and Titus; daughter Melissa Simmons (Greg Simmons) with grandchildren Isabelle, Adalai, Sawyer, Audrine, Caedon, and Norris; daughter Amanda Fischer (Bill Fischer) with grandchildren Mabel, Elsie, and Silas. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter Mackenzie Young. Bob loved learning languages and talking with people. He especially loved sharing the love and life of his Savior Jesus Christ. He wanted everyone to be able to experience the peace and comfort of knowing his Savior personally and the hope of heaven which he is enjoying today. Bob had mastered Spanish, French, Arabic, and was currently working on Hindi to broaden this ability to witness to others. Bob worked at Trout for ten years driving forklift. He left to continue his education at Central Washington University to receive his teacher certificate and taught in several districts in Washington and in Idaho. He retired from public education and continued to teach abroad in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. He retired at the age of 70 but continued his passion of evangelism until his death.
