Anthony "Tony" Schneider

Anthony “Tony” E. Schneider, 65, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Tony was born April 3, 1960, to Ellis & Lucille (Conway) Schneider. He was raised on the family wheat farm outside of Waterville and attended Waterville Public Schools, graduating high school in 1979. While in high school, he loved to wrestle, play football, baseball, and basketball. Tony was a member of the Douglas Livestock 4-H Club and enjoyed raising and showing pigs. On the few occasions he showed a lamb, he would say they were nothing more than woolie boogers. Tony loved anything with a motor and attended Wenatchee Valley College, where he pursued a degree in Automotive Technology, graduating in 1981. His very first job was with The Waterville Auto Company or as it was often referred to, ‘The Ford Garage’. Tony enjoyed the customers and co-workers as much as he did his job. After the business closed, he went to work for Dick’s Service as a mechanic. He loved his job and worked there for several years, forming a special bond with his boss, Mike, who was also his cousin. Treasured memories were made when they would take the horses out on trail rides. Tony appreciated a good rodeo and even tried his hand at riding bareback. While attending the Fair one year, he met Angela Kirk who was showing pigs. They soon married and had two boys, Brett and Justin. The boys were his pride and joy, and he was happy to raise them on the very farm he had been raised on. Following his auto accident, Tony enjoyed attending his boys’ many school and sporting events, as well as 4-H functions. He looked forward to hunting season with his family and friends every fall, even traveling to Wyoming to antelope hunt with his close friend Marty. The arrival of grandchildren brought great joy to Tony. He couldn’t wait to hold them and snuggle with them. Having a soft spot for kids, he not only cherished his own grandkids but also his nieces and nephews. He always thought it was fun to see how the little ones would investigate his beard. Tony had a great love for dogs, and his current companion was a dog named Bear. Tony is survived by his children, Brett (Hannah) and Justin (Caelyn), grandchildren Michael, Zachary, Jade, and Brock, and sisters Julia, Debra, and Polly, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at The United Lutheran Church in Waterville. Memorial Contributions can be made in Tony’s name to The Waterville Ambulance Fund, The Waterville Fire Department, Friends of the Fair, or another Waterville organization of your choice. Arrangements are by Chapel of the Valley.
