Arla Wylet

Arla Mae Goakey Wylet passed from this life to her Heavenly home on January 15 2022, at 5:15 a.m. She was born on October 19, 1925, at Deer Park, WA. Arla was the fourth of five children, three girls and two boys, born to Edwin and Ellen Fritz Goakey. She spent her early years in Leavenworth, WA, and at the age of seven moved to Wenatchee, WA, where Arla attended school, graduating in the class of 1945 at Wenatchee High School. On April 4, 1946, Arla was married to Dale Wylet. They met while working at the Great Northern Railroad. She worked on the train engine that is still on display in Wenatchee, WA. She checked the engine water and washed the windows. Dale was working underneath the engine when he saw a beautiful pair of legs walk by, which was Arla. Following their marriage, they lived in Spokane, WA, where Dale attended Beauty School. Upon completion, they moved to Chelan, WA, where they lived for a year and then to Entiat, WA, where Dale purchased a beauty salon. After ten years, they moved to Wenatchee, WA, where they resided since 1958. Arla was the bookkeeper for her husbands beauty salon, a homemaker, enjoyed cooking, and loved to play pinochle with her friends, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Cornerstone (formerly Central) Christian Church and Faith Presbyterian Church of East Wenatchee, WA. She is survived by two daughters Leanne Wylet Housden of East Wenatchee, WA, and Teresa Wylet Baird of Granite Falls, WA; five grandchildren: Nakia Baird (Andrea), Kimber Baird, Chantry Baird, Tamea Baird, and Chantel Baird Stecher (Sean); five great-Grandchildren: Amber Booth, Brooke Booth, Alexina Stecher, Sophia Baird, and Oliver Baird; three great-great-grandchildren: Nora Acfalle, Ella AcFalle, and Rosie AcFalle; two special nieces: Pat Dickinson and Sandra Reiman; and a close daughter-like friend, Karen Peterson. Arla was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; two sisters: Eva Kemp & Nora Roddy; and two brothers: Ortis Goakey & Loren Goakey. We would like to add that Mom/Grandma was enduring to our hearts and our love for her is for always. She loved her family and always made us yummy treats and let us swim in the backyard swimming pool for hours.
