Barbara Jean Taylor

Barbara Taylor Wenatchee, WA Barbara Taylor, 79, a longtime resident of Wenatchee, WA, went to be with our Lord on October 12, 2012. Barbara was born in Braddyville, IA on October 24, 2012, to Cecil and Minnie Grace "Gracie" (Chambers) Terry. She was the youngest of four children. She had two brothers, Harold Terry and Merril Terry, and one sister, Opal Wiese. She moved around quite a bit in her childhood and when her father suddenly passed away, she moved to Kennewick, WA to live with her mother. She then met the love of her life, Stuart Taylor. They married on August 30, 1948, living happily married for 63 years. Stuart and Barbara made their first home in Kennewick and their daughter, Glenda, was born in Pasco, WA. After a couple of years, they moved to Soap Lake, WA, where their second child, Judy, was born. In 1951, they made the move to the Wenatchee Valley, where she was a loving homemaker. Once her children went to school, she began working various jobs outside of the home, including driving a school bus for Eastmont School District for 15 years. She and her husband enjoyed camping, fishing, and dancing. She loved her family dearly and made a lot of sacrifices over the years to see them happy and well cared for. In 1984, Stuart and Barbara retired and moved to Keller Ferry on Lake Roosevelt, where they loved fishing, boating and spending time with friends. In the summer of 2007, they moved back to Wenatchee to be close to family. She adored her family and was very proud of them. She enjoyed watching her great-grandchildren play sports and made it to as many games as she could. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #204 for many years and a proud member of Eastmont Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Dale Thompson (Barry Hurd); two grandchildren, Samantha (Gary) Angel and Casey (Ross) Wagner; three great-grandchildren, Gannon Angel, Kiera Angel and Wesley Angel; her sister, Opal Wiese; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Taylor; her brothers, Harold Terry and Merril Terry; and her daughter, Judy Carol Erb-Breiler. Please come help us remember Barbara in a Celebration of Life Service that will be held in her honor at the Telford's Chapel of the Valley, 711 Grant Road, East Wenatchee on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., with a reception following at Eastmont Baptist Church, 400 S. Kentucky, East Wenatchee. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
