Betty Ann Hall

Betty Ann (Palmer) Hall passed away at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, WA on July 14, 2016. Betty Ann was born in Harlan, IA on September 1, 1935 to Orville and Jean Palmer. Betty Ann graduated from Walnut High School in Walnut, IA in 1953. Soon after, Betty Ann moved to Portland, OR, where she eventually met Eugene "Gene" Hall, the love of her life! Gene and Betty Ann were married on June 1, 1957. They began their 58 amazing years together in Vancouver, WA. They started their family there, where Betty Ann was busy being a housewife and mom to their three young children. They moved to Wenatchee, WA in 1963, where they made their home for the next 52 years. Betty Ann later went to school, while raising a family, and started a short career as an LPN. Her true passion though was helping others and she became very active in numerous community organizations and activities; Girl Scouts of America, Women's Softball League and Bowling Leagues (she played for many years), Salvation Army and Kiwanis. She and Gene also became Sister City Missawa (ambassadors), as well as hosting students in the Foreign Student Exchange program. Every Christmas holiday, you could find Betty Ann heavily involved in the Salvation Army Kettle fundraiser by collecting and counting all the monies and she was extremely honored to become Lieutenant Governor for Kiwanis. Betty Ann and Gene enjoyed their many trips abroad; twice as ambassadors of Wenatchee to Japan. They also traveled extensively across the states. Both Betty Ann and Gene loved watching their children in their many activities from grade school to high school to college. Betty Ann was thrilled when the grandchildren came along! She loved them fiercely, with rarely a weekend going by that she didn't volunteer to babysit and spend time with them. And as they all grew, Grandpa and Grandma were on the road to every sporting event, from Wenatchee to Spokane to wherever the event took them! Betty Ann follows Gene (Jan. 19, 2016) to Heaven. She is survived by two of eight siblings: Carol Peterson and Linda Mikels, both of Ft. Collins, CO; her children: David (Janine) Hall of Spokane, WA, Karen Hall of Wenatchee, WA and Mark Hall; four grandchildren: Jessica, Kyle, Kerstyn and Keagan; and four great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday August 3, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Telford's Chapel of the Valley, 711 Grant Rd., East Wenatchee, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army in Wenatchee, 1501 Russel St., Wenatchee, WA 98801. A potluck lunch will be held at Bonaventure Assisted Living, following the service.
