Betty Peterson

A. Elizabeth “Betty” (White) Peterson, 97, born Nov. 25, 1925, in Wenatchee, WA. went to sleep on Feb. 19th, 2023, in Wenatchee, WA with a song in her heart - “Jesus Loves Me, This I Know”. Let there be no end date placed on her endless Love. There is no stain that will not come out in the wash, but sometimes we need more Bleach (Jesus’ Blood). She was born to Lee A. and Marion (Tatum) White, and was raised on Bear Mountain until school age, moving to Monitor, WA. where she attended grade school. In the summers she picked cherries in her parents’ orchards in Monitor and Chelan, until moving with her Grandmother Elizabeth White to Tacoma, and graduating from High School there. She went to WSU and graduated as a Home Economist. She worked out of Spokane for Washington Water & Power, teaching housewives how to use an electric range. While working out of the Central WA area, she met John C. Peterson, a crop duster. They were married on Sept. 30, 1950, in Wenatchee. To further his pilot career, they moved to Seattle. While there, they were blessed with 3 children: Leslie Ann, Kim and Julie. John’s pilot career moved them across the country to Woodstock, IL to fly from O’Hare airport. They took many trips across the States before returning to Wenatchee. The family had many fond memories here, and fun times at her parent’s cabin on Lake Chelan. She remained in the Wenatchee area and resided at River West until her passing. We are grateful for the loving care she received there. She was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Marion (Tatum) White, her only brother Lee C. White, and her husband John. She is survived by her daughter Leslie Ann (Richard) Melcher, son Kim Peterson and daughter Julie (Bill) Hoing, grandchildren Kimili (Jason) Thorson, Taylor Hoing, John (Megan) Peterson and 3 great-grandchildren, Madison, Tyce and Jett Thorson. Arrangements by Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
