Beverly Ann Garibay

Beverly Ann (Embry) Garibay April 7, 1943 ~ May 3, 2015 Beverly Ann Garibay, of Wenatchee, WA, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015, with her family at her side. Beverly was born to Lester and Thelma (Gardner) Embry on April 7, 1943, in Calusa, CA. The fifth of 11 children, Bev spent her childhood working in the orchards and fields with her family. In October 1960, she married Arnold Wheatcroft in Riverside, CA, and together they had four children, Terri, Robert, Kevin and Janet. In 1970, the family moved to Wenatchee, WA, where Beverly worked for Eddy Mays. In 1979, Bev moved back to California to be closer to her mom. In 1980, she married Sergio Garibay and in 1981, they decided to move back to Wenatchee, at which time Beverly went to work for Stemilt Growers. She loved her job and the people she worked with and made many close friends over the years. In 1999, illness forced her to retire. She loved to paint and many of her paintings are displayed at family and friends' homes. If you were looking for a baby gift, look no further, as she would crochet you an outfit or afghan in no time. She was very artistic and anything she made always turned out beautiful. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Sergio; her parents, Lester and Thelma; three brothers, Donald, Carl and Gary; three sisters, Evelyn, Sonjia and Kathy; her son, Robert; and grandson, Aaron. She is survived by two brothers, Jim Embry of Bakersfield, CA and Lester Embry of Wenatchee; two sisters, Jenette Garza and Ruby Bertram, both of Riverside, CA; her children, Terri (Terry) Spurlock and Janet (Albert) Aguilar, all of East Wenatchee, and her son, Kevin Wheatcroft of Wenatchee; nine grandchildren, Kara, Philip, Seth, Jess, Chris, Ashley, Josh, Britney and Jenae; and six great-grandchildren, Devonne, Aaron, Lilly, Blake, Lexi and Stephen; many nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Estelle Figley. A Graveside Service will beheld to honor Bev's life at the Entiat Cemetery on Friday, June 19, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. with a Celebration of Life gathering to share all our memories at the home of Janet and Albert Aguilar to follow.
