Carl Melby

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Carl Everett Melby, who was taken too soon on August 19, 2024, at the age of 65. He brought immeasurable joy to our lives with his kindness, sense of humor, uplifting smile, cheerful giggle, and constant teasing. Though his time with us was brief, the depth of the love, happiness and knowledge will forever remain in our hearts. Carl Everett Melby was born on April 2, 1959, to Laurence Melby and Margie (Jenkins) Melby in Rhinelander, WI. That is also where he met the love of his life, Mary Jayne. They married on November 14, 1981, and moved to Wenatchee WA, and built a wonderful life full of new experiences and adventures with family and friends. Carl was a hard worker who took pride in every job he did. He had a passion for the electrical trade and he pursued his dream of becoming a journeyman electrician and electrical administrator. Carl loved everything outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and loved going to Banks Lake and Lake Roosevelt fishing for walleye. He really enjoyed camping trips to the ocean to crab and clam with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting and just being in the woods. His father taught him how to weld and be an auto mechanic for the endless fun projects they collected. They enjoyed restoring antique cars and going to antique auto shows. He was currently working on his 1962 Ford Galaxie Sunliner convertible. With all this gained knowledge, he made sure to make any moment a teaching moment to enrich the lives of his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Laurence Melby. His survivors include spouse, Mary Jayne Melby; children: Chelsea Davies (Jordon) and Jonathan Melby ( Ashlee); grandchildren: Jordon and Cora Davies, Grayson, Penelope and Salem Melby; mother, Margie Melby; siblings: Chis Sisel (Tim), Pam Kottke (Mike), Boone Melby (Melissa), Dana Melby (Dan), and Daniel Melby (Stacy); nephews and niece: Timmy (Heidi), Mason, Carter, and Charlee Jo; and great-nieces: Marceline and Eleanor. We would like to thank the wonderful and caring teams at Confluence Health Hospice, Medical Oncology, and Radiation Oncology that guided him on this final journey. In Lieu of flowers please donate to Cancer Care NCW/Our House. A Celebration of Life will Tuesday, August 27th, 1:00 pm at New Life Center Church of God, 310 5th St NE, East Wenatchee, WA.
