Charles V. "Chuck" Wiley East Wenatchee, WA Charles V. Wiley "Chuck" was peacefully called home to Heaven on Sunday morning, July 22, 2018, with his beloved wife, Diana, at their home in East Wenatchee. He fought a heroic battle with cancer for two years. He was 68 years old. He was born July 18, 1950, to Forrest and Darleen Wiley, at Hoquiam, Washington, the youngest of three boys. Stan was the oldest, then Glenn, then Chucky-boy! The family lived in Hoquiam, Burlington, Port Angeles and Quincy, following his father's career as a Free Methodist minister. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1969 and moved to Wenatchee. Chuck accepted Jesus Christ as Savior May 6, 1973 and was baptized May 20, 1973. His faith became an important part of his life. He met his beloved Diana and married on June 5, 1976. During the course of their marriage they lived in Wenatchee, Malaga, Quincy, Fort Worth, Texas and for the past 20 years in East Wenatchee. Chuck had a long career as an orchardist, growing award winning rainier cherries with Washington Cherry Growers, raising fruit to feed the world. He had the privilege to work with two of the finest, hardworking men, his orchard foremen, Antonio and Alvaro Morales. Chuck had a beautiful voice, and was the bass singer in the local southern gospel group Common Bond 5, from it's inception in 2001 to the final retirement concert in 2014. He loved singing gospel songs about his Lord, Jesus Christ, with his dearest friends in the faith, this was their "common bond". They sang concerts around the Pacific Northwest, many at churches and venues in the Wenatchee Valley. They also sang the national anthem, for many years, at the Apple Blossom's "Chief for a Day". He loved to travel with Diana in their motor home and explore the United States. They traveled to the east coast and Washington DC in 2012. Their last trip was in 2015 to the Reagan Library in California and to Diana's parent's home in Sun City West, Arizona. He loved being an uncle, it was one of the greatest joy's of his life. When the first niece was born in 1971, Gretchen, he was smitten. Each one after that was a special blessing dear to his heart. They have all survived him; Gretchen (Wiley-Stehr) and husband Vaughn and their children Faith and Griffin; Erik and Candace Wiley and their children Kaden, Natalie and Annalyse; Lance and Shaana Wiley, and their daughters Lilah, Eden and Hallie; Alyson Wiley-Johnson, and her husband Travis and their daughter Gwynevere. He was an avid fisherman all of his life. During the last month's of his life, when he was unable to man his own boat, his fishing buddies (Mike, Gary and Ken) took him on three amazing trips to Lake Chelan. The last trip, on June 8th, he caught the elusive King salmon, a dream that had been on his bucket list for a long time! Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Diana; brother, Stan Wiley ( Lindi) of Boise, Idaho; brother, Glenn Wiley (Lana) of Burlington, WA ; father-in-law, Bill R. Meyer and mother-in-law, Sharon L. Meyer of Malaga, WA ; brother-in-law, Bill Meyer, Jr. of Malaga; and his nieces and nephews and the many grand nieces and grand nephews listed above. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Darleen, and his sister-in-law, Lynda Meyer. Chuck had the deepest admiration and respect for his brother-in-law, Bill Meyer, Jr. Bill graciously came along side us, and we braved the difficult cancer treatment together. He drove us to Seattle countless times during chemo, radiation and surgery. He was a positive support, often using humor to lighten our load. He encouraged us when things were difficult and gave selflessly of his time and talent. We would like to thank Central Wa Hospital Home Care & Hospice for the incredible care they provided in the last months of Chuck's life. We thank each and every one of the people involved in his care. We are grateful from the depths of hearts. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Eastmont Baptist Church, 400 S. Kentucky, East Wenatchee, WA.
