Cleo Rae Lyons

Cleo Rae Lyons, 89, passed away at home on March 19, 2026. Cleo was the first child of Russel and Beryle Whitehall, beginning a life marked by devotion to family and enduring strength. She is lovingly remembered by three of her siblings: Ted Whitehall (Karen) of Entiat, Bob Whitehall (Kathy) of Entiat, and Marcia Keithley (Malcolm) of East Wenatchee. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Joan Rudd and Judy Williams. Cleo spent much of her life in Entiat, Washington, where she grew up, graduated from high school in 1954, married Don Loveall (1933-1966), and lovingly raised her four children. In later years, she made her home in East Wenatchee with her husband, Bill Lyons (1933-1997). Cleo was a devoted mother to Kim Valentine (Bruce) of Peshastin, Shelly Milne (Scott) of Cashmere, Brenda O’Brien of East Wenatchee, and Don Loveall (Kelly) of Lewiston, Idaho. She was also a loving and proud grandmother and great-grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her growing family. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in the lives and love they shared. She worked for many years in the fruit industry, a field she truly loved, and she looked forward to celebrating the Apple Blossom Festival each year. Cleo found joy in life’s simple pleasures—growing flowers, especially roses, spending time with loved ones, collecting agates at the Oregon Coast, and being an active and dedicated member of Faith Presbyterian Church. Cleo was also a loyal Seattle Mariners fan and spent many hours cheering for the team. Known for her warmth and kindness, Cleo was truly a friend to all. She had a radiant smile and a joyful laugh that could light up any room, bringing comfort and happiness to everyone she met. She valued connection and made everyone feel seen and appreciated. A celebration of Cleo’s life will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church in East Wenatchee on May 2, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.—what would have been her 90th birthday. Cleo’s legacy of love, kindness, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Presbyterian Church in East Wenatchee.
