Cleo "Art" Mooney

Cleo “Art” Mooney passed away on October 28th, 2024 at the age of 79 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pauline Seaman and Cleo Mooney, and his brother, Bill Mooney. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Mooney, son, Kevin (Robin) Mooney, daughter, Jennifer (Eric) Michels, grandson, Tyler (Hayley) Mooney, grandson, Tanner Mooney, granddaughter, Madison Michels, granddaughter, Kennedy Michels, brother, Dale (Gayle) Mooney, stepdaughter, Paige Gill, grandson, Cody Gill, grandson, Brendon Gill, great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kylie, Camryn, and Kent. Art was born May 5, 1945, in Day, Arkansas. His family moved to Wenatchee when he was a child. He served in the National Guard for several years before starting his 30-year career at Alcoa. Over the years, he had many more business endeavors including a tanning salon, pizza parlor, sub shop, a limousine service, and owning a car lot. Art married Nancy in 1992, they had a wonderful life together full of love and adventures. They built a beautiful home and enjoyed going to the casinos playing slot machines, or spending time with friends or family. His happiest moments were behind a BBQ with his loved ones around. Art was an avid softball player and coach in senior league softball. He traveled to Utah for nearly two decades to play in the Huntsman World Senior Games. He was inducted into the senior league softball half of fame and won various medals and championships with his teams throughout the years. A service celebrating Art’s life will be held on Friday, November 1st, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Chapel of the Valley located at 378 Eastmont Ave., East Wenatchee. Following the service, we will meet for an informal reception and gathering at Abby’s Pizza, East Wenatchee. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the caring staff at Ciel Senior Living who took such good care of Art. We would also like to thank Advanced Home Health and Hospice, we are so thankful for the compassion you showed during such a difficult time.
