Dell Marie Shae

Dell M. Shae Wenatchee, WA With family by her side and a goodnight prayer to ease her soul, Dell Marie Shae slipped peacefully into heaven on December 17th, 2015. Dell will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile, gentle sweet spirit, her love of life and family. Dell was born on January 6th, 1935 in Carlsbad, NM to Thomas and Addie Loudale Cornett. She spent her childhood there and graduated from Carlsbad High School. Dell completed a year of business school in Lubbock, TX before moving with her family to Yakima, WA. In Yakima, she began working as a secretary for Pacific Fruit and Produce and met the love of her life George "Punch" Shae. Punch and Dell were married February 11th, 1956 in Yakima at the Catholic Church. Shortly after, they moved to Wenatchee, WA, where they started their family. Dell became a homemaker and mother to their four children. Once her children were in high school, she took a job with Wenoka Fruit Warehouse, where she made wonderful friends. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Dell volunteered at the Wenatchee Senior Center and loved all the people and friendships that she made. She was a devout Catholic and was involved in Catholic Daughters at St. Joseph Church. She was survived by her brothers, Robert (Doris) Cornett, and Tim (Chroen) Cornett; daughters, Robin (Keith) Huffaker (5 children, 18 grandchildren), Debbie (Tim) Renz (2 children, 3 grandchildren); sons, Jim (Kathy) Shae (2 children), and Mark (Andrea) Shae (2 children). Dell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George "Punch"; brother, Roy Cornett, and grandson, Court Haugen. Mom's love, warmth and laughter will live on in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Have a wonderful Christmas with Dad, we know you are watching over us. Love you Heaps and Scads! A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wed, December 30, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Wenatchee. Concluding services and interment will follow at Wenatchee City Cemetery.
