Richard "Dick" Martin

Richard (Dick) Eugene Martin, 81, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Dick was born on December 9, 1942. He was the oldest child born to Richard Dean Martin and Phyllis Gene Dorr-Clark. As a child, Dick loved music, playing guitar, and knew every Elvis song. His love of music has continued to influence his children and grandchildren. Dick graduated from Shoreline High School in 1961. There, he met his first wife, Mary (Pat) Patricia Saltarelli. They sang together at several competitions throughout the Puget Sound Area. They had been married for 19 years. They lived in Seattle, Lynnwood, and East Wenatchee. Dick worked at Boeing for 12 years. In 1976, he started his career at the Douglas County PUD in East Wenatchee as a microwave technician, then advanced to a Network Administrator and retired from the PUD as an IS Supervisor in 2006. On March 14, 1981, Dick married Tippawan Lekhakul Deal. They were married for 43 years. Together they enjoyed dancing, birding, traveling to Dixieland Jazz festivals, and spent their winters in Indio, California. They also spent time in Lincoln City Oregon where they taught their grandchildren about tide pools and fostered a deep respect for nature. Kathy, Kim, and Steven remember family vacations visiting Disneyland, Yellowstone, Sun Lakes, and more. The tradition of family vacations has continued for all of us. Dick is survived by his wife Tippawan, his children Kathy Moreno (Larry), Kim Marshall, Steven Martin, Andrew Deal (Meghan) and Rosie White (Jeff), 10 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and his sisters Pam Green and Melissa Burns. Extended family members, Dancing Friends from the Dixieland Jazz festivals and many others mourn his loss. Dick is preceded in death by his parents and son Michael Martin. Per Dick’s request, there will be no service. His ashes will be scattered in the future with his wife Tippawan’s along their favorite birding site. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wenatchee Senior Center or Alzheimer’s Association (www. alz.org. in his name).
