Donald Babst

Donald "Don" A. Babst Wenatchee, WA Don was born in Wenatchee, WA on April 15, 1955 to James, Sr. and Lou Babst. He was born into a home full of loving siblings (James Jr., Jeanne, Bob, Mike, Patty, and Margie). He graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1974 and he attended Highline Community College, as well as Eastern Washington University. In 1978, he married his high school sweetheart, Julie, and together they enjoyed many activities, some of which included, camping, hiking, fishing and boating trips with friends. In 1985, they welcomed their first born son, Sean, and four years later their second son, Tim. Don was a very compassionate and loving father who instilled quality traits in both his sons. He was hardworking and passionate about everything he did. He worked for Frito Lay for many years, but in 1994, he decided to go after his dream and became sole proprietor of Don's Automotive Facelift. Don was gifted with his hands and had a knack for problem solving. For several years, he rebuilt and restored classic cars, taking them to several different cars shows. Don was also an active and athletic person, who was involved in many things throughout his life. He played in band while in high school and eventually got involved with the Wenatchee Youth Circus. He also looked forward to men's league softball every spring. Don was extremely outgoing and a friend to everyone; he could not go anywhere without seeing someone he had to catch up with. He also loved being around his family, Don looked forward to any occasion where their house was full with family. In 2010 and 2015, Don became a grandpa to both Brodie and Westin. He was instantly best friends with both grandkids and they both loved to spend time with "Papa Don." Don loved the ocean; this love led him and Julie to the Hawaiian islands and he was instantly at peace the moment he arrived. Don will always be remembered for his outgoing personality, comforting hugs and contagious smile. Don's Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. and it will be located at the Wenatchee Free Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
