Doris E. Brunner

Doris Edna Brunner Wenatchee, WA Doris Edna Brunner was born in Blue Hill, NE to George and Ava Lee Johnson on September 23, 1917. In 1933, Doris was baptized and confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alliance, NE. In 1937, she moved to the Wenatchee Valley, where she attended business college. While attending St. Paul's Lutheran Church, she met Robert R. Brunner. This couple was joined in marriage on December 1, 1937, in Immanuel Lutheran Church. Baptized and confirmed as a young girl, she remained a faithful and loving servant of the Lord all her life. She was very active at St. Paul's and also at Faith Lutheran Church in East Wenatchee, where she was a charter member. She worked at Parson's studio, assisted her husband with their apple orchard, and in 1973, they opened the first senior mobile park in the Wenatchee Valley, Mountain View Estates. God blessed her with many gifts and talents through her life. Cake decorating, cooking, serving, gardening and according to her family, the best cinnamon roll baker, ever! Among all these gifts and talents, she most cherished her five children and their families. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; two brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her sons, Larry (Ozella), Robert (Florence), Richard (Molly) and Walter (Lisa); and her daughter, Carol Williams (Rev. Herman). She was much loved and will be greatly missed by all, including 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her many friends. Doris Edna Brunner realized her full salvation in Jesus Christ, her Savior, on January 20, 2012, at her residence in Columbia Heights Retirement and Assisted Living Community in Wenatchee at the age of 94 years, 3 months and 27 days. She now joins the saints in Heaven. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 3, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 171 Eastmont Avenue, East Wenatchee. The Service will conclude at the church. A Private Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to the Faith Lutheran Stained Glass Windows Fund. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
