Edith Daniels

Edith “Ede” Daniels, 94, of Peshastin, WA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 28, 2026, with her beloved granddaughter Emmaline by her side. Born on April 14, 1932, in Woodinville, WA, Ede was the cherished daughter of William and Alice Morris and one of five siblings. She grew up in Bothell, where she developed a deep appreciation for music that stayed with her throughout her life. Ede attended school in Bothell through the eighth grade. In 1946, her family moved to Wenatchee where she attended and graduated from Wenatchee High School. In 1973 she went onto earn her degree from the University of Washington. She began working at Wenatchee Valley College in the Financial Aid Department. Over time, she became the Financial Aid Director, helping countless students and families access higher education, secure summer employment, and pursue meaningful careers. As part of her role, Ede conducted outreach across Eastern Washington, visiting schools to provide guidance and information about financial aid to high school students and their families. She was widely respected for her dedication, integrity, and the positive impact she had on students, families, colleagues, and the broader community she served. Ede first married Joe Mullins, and together they adopted their sons, Matthew and, a few years later, Thomas. She later married Eugene “Gene” Daniels in 1966, and they made their home in Peshastin, WA, where she lived for the rest of her life. Ede will be remembered for her love of music, education, golf, and giving back to her community, as well as her fierce independence. Music was her first passion and remained a constant throughout her life. She sang and played the piano during her school years and continued sharing her talent by singing in her church choir and at friends’ weddings. Another of her passions was golf, which allowed her to spend cherished time with friends; she continued playing into her early 90s. She is survived by her son Tom and his wife Laurie; her stepdaughters, Anita and Denise; her grandchildren Emmaline, Seth, Amanda and Brad as well as several great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Peshastin Memorial Hall, 10204 Main St, Peshastin, WA 98847. Light snacks and drinks will be provided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Cupboard, 219 14th Street, Leavenworth, WA 98826. Ede will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love for family, friends, neighbors, and community will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
