Evelyn Marie Adams May 2, 1936 - January 10, 2016 On the afternoon of January 10, 2016, Evelyn Marie Adams passed away peacefully in her home, following an extended illness. She was surrounded by her family, who loved her very much. Evelyn was born to William Rufus and Myrtle Moon on May 2, 1936 in Council Bluffs, IA. She was the youngest of eight children: brothers, Don Moon, Ray Moon, Bill Moon, Jim Moon; and her sisters, Alice Scoular, Muriel Churchill and Helen Killian. She loved to spend time visiting all of her brothers and sisters and would sit up chatting with them until the wee hours of the morning. She married Roy Irvin Adams on July 5, 1952 in Grandview, WA. They lived in Sunnyside, WA, for a time and later made their permanent home in East Wenatchee, WA in 1953. Evelyn was the proud mother of six children: Ron Adams, Debbie Barsten, Cindy Ficker, Connie Adams, Tammie Garrett and Kelly Adams. She spent many years as a waitress in the Wenatchee Valley, including Fox and Hounds Club, the Country Club and the Elks Club. She was a successful cashier in the grocery store industry. She worked for Safeway and retired from Buttrey Food & Drug. She worked hard throughout her entire life and always put the needs of her family above all else. Evelyn also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Roy. They made several trips to Arizona and Mexico over the years since she loved the warm weather and sunshine. Evelyn was preceded in death by her youngest son, Kelly Mitchell Adams. She is survived by her husband, Roy I. Adams; son, Ron L. Adams (Joanne) East Wenatchee, WA; daughters, Debbie M. Barsten, (Guy) Wenatchee, WA, Cindy L. Ficker (Dave), East Wenatchee, WA, Connie J. Adams, Wenatchee, WA; and Tammie R. Garrett (Pete) of Wenatchee, WA. Evelyn had many grandchildren and great- grandchildren who she adored and was very proud of. You will forever be in our hearts and loved always...until we meet again. The family wishes to thank Dr. Shawn Nixon and the staff of the East Wenatchee Clinic. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Confluence Health - East Wenatchee Clinic. A Memorial Service will be held at Telford's, Friday, January 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Scott Langager officiating. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
