Evelyn N. Farley

Evelyn N. (Wise) Farley slipped away quietly at Central Washington Hospital in the early morning of October 31, 2018 after a brief illness. Evelyn Nadine Wise was born on May 25, 1923 to Earnest and Martha Wise in Ardenvoir, Washington. She had seven children. She was a member of the Rock Island Community Church where she served as hospitality chairman in charge of arranging pot luck dinners and decorating the church building for special events. She also ministered in the church in other ways, including singing special music when she was asked and a member of the Rock Island Missionary Circle for many years. She was a faithful member of TOPS and KOPS, until she could no longer attend the weekly weigh-ins. During her life, she worked as a cashier at Claussen's Drug Store and Peter Rabbit Grocery Store. In addition, she worked for many years for Cascadian Warehouse and H & H Warehouse, packing fruit. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Bass, Larry J. (Patty) Lumsden, Terry D. (Loretta Stanfield) Lumsden and Kathie (Aaron Hendrickson) Dittman, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Lumsden, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Duncalo, John H. Lumsden and James R. Farley, her sons, Gary W. Lumsden, Jerry E. Lumsden and Barry R. Lumsden, her parents, her sister, Eunice Colvin and brother, Donald Wise. The family wishes to thank Ron and Sammie Parker, Margaret Kernoul, Sharon Bender, Jackie Wilson, as well as other friends for the help and attention they rendered to Evelyn when she was sick at home, as well as the medical professionals who cared for Evelyn in her final days. Also, thank you to Chapel of the Valley for their loving assistance and care of the family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Calvary Chapel Fellowship; 2200 North Baker Ave., East Wenatchee. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 7, from noon to 5:00 pm at Chapel of the Valley; 302 9th Street, Wenatchee. Memorial donations may be made to the Rock Island Community Church Fund. Arrangements are by Chapel of the Valley.
