Evelyn Jean Wyles

Evelyn Jean (Thomas) Wyles, age 95, of East Wenatchee, WA, was reunited with her husband, Dale Wyles, in Heaven on Saturday, March 23, 2019. Evelyn was born September 12, 1923, to Andrew Jackson Thomas and Alice Ruth (Wagner) Thomas in Hoquiam, WA, the oldest of eight children. At a young age, she moved to Peru, South America, where her Daddy, as she called him, managed a copper mine for several years. The Thomas family returned to Washington State, where her parents purchased the Tea Pot Service Station in Zillah, WA. Evelyn was very outstanding in sports at Zillah, where she lettered all four years. Evelyn had many fond memories of growing up at the Tea Pot Service Station. Evelyn married her high school sweetheart, Dale Wyles, on July 9, 1943. After their marriage, they built a very successful service station on South First Street in Yakima, WA. Evelyn loved to visit and never knew a stranger. In 1956, Dale and Evelyn moved to Wenatchee. Evelyn was a housewife, but she also enjoyed being the playground teacher at Sunnyslope Elementry. Evelyn loved to decorate and could have been a very successful interior decorator, but chose to stay at home with her four children. Above all, Evelyn loved the Lord and her family. Evelyn and Dale were Servants of God their entire marriage. She never complained about anything throughout the years Evelyn and Dale willingly opened their home to many family members who needed a helping hand and a place to stay. We will forever miss her beautiful smile, positive attitude, and quick mind Evelyn is survived by her children: Tom Wyles (Deb), Mary Wyles Zavala (Rudy), Ruth Wyles Toler (Tom), Ray Wyles (Linda); grandchildren: (who called her Nan) Sue Zornes (Danny), Jason Wyles (Kathy), David Zavala, Darcel Zavala, Harrison Wyles, Lucy Wyles, and Travis Toler (Kelly); great-grandchildren: Nikole, Abby, Trever, Brooklynn, Severa, and Alexis; two brothers: Richard and George; numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her parents: three sisters and two brothers. We Love you, Mom, "Nan", and will forever miss you. A Celebration of LIfe will be held at Wenatchee First Assembly of God Church, 1520 McKittrick St., Wenatchee, WA, on Saturday April 13, 2019, at 11:00 a.m.
