Glenn Montgomery

Glenn Montgomery, 75, of East Wenatchee, died Monday, October 31, 2022. Arrangements by Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee. Thank you all for coming today to honor Glenn Montgomery. How do you say goodbye to someone you have loved and looked up to your entire life? Our dad was kind, funny, smart, giving and just a wonderful human being. He never had a bad word to say about anyone and there just aren't enough words to describe how great he was. Our dad loved his family above all else and always took the time to check in and make sure we were all ok. He also spent a lot of time at his place in Oklahoma with his brothers and their families, fishing, hunting and helping out where he was needed. our dad took care of his parents as they got older and he truly enjoyed being able to spend that kind of time with them. His wife Sally was his world and when I would visit I loved to hear them bicker back and forth till we would all ended up laughing. They were inseparable and always had each other's backs. There are so many great memories we have of our dad that make me smile. When my brother and I were in grade school dad would get up early to make us a scrambled egg, sausage and miracle whip sandwich. I despised them but would never tell him because it made him so happy to do it. It did however make me very popular at school because The kids would line up waiting to see which one I would trade lunches with. I never told my dad that story and if he can hear me I still do not like them. But I appreciate the effort. Our dad took us fishing, hunting and camping...all the things he loved and instilled in us. One hunting trip he came back proud as could be with a deer and hung it on the back patio. And I told him I would never eat that. A week or so later my dad made spaghetti and he always made the best spaghetti. I was enjoying it as usual when I noticed him grinning and and he asked me how I like it. I said good dad, it's great!and he started to laugh telling me that it was made with the deer meat. I was mad at him for him tricking me but it was good and I never complained about deer meat after that. The song 5 more minutes has played often in my head after a my dads passing. I wish I had just 5 more to say I love you and thank you for being a wonderful father. I know he knew that and would tell me to stop crying because everything was going to be ok. Dad was a believer and because of that I know his mom was waiting for him when he arrived to hug his neck along with his dad and his brothers who I'm sure all had fishing poles waiting. We will miss you dad and when that time comes I cannot wait to hug you and have you show me around. Thank you all from coming to support the family and share your condolences for dad.
