Jack Toftness

In loving memory of Jack Martin Toftness, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 75. Jack leaves behind his loving family and is survived by his loving wife, June Toftess, his children: son, Troy Toftness, and wife, Kim, daughter, Wendie Dyal; his grandchildren: Justin Dyal, Miranda Collins and husband, Hunter, Colton Dyal, Brock Toftness, Brylee Toftness; his great-grandchildren, Kyler Dyal, Mayci Dyal and Cooper Collins; brother, Mike Toftness; and a huge community of friends that he considered family. Jack will never be forgotten by anyone who had the privilege to meet him. His laugh was one of a kind. You could hear him before you saw him. His heart was as big as his personality. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed making new ones. He always had a story to tell and loved making people laugh. He was a strong loud presence in the stands at his children and grandchildren's football, softball, baseball, and volleyball games. Everyone knew who he belonged to when he would yell out our names in the stands. He was not only a fan to his family but everyone on their teams. He was very motivational with his cheers and may have even dressed up as a cheerleader once. Jack was born and raised in East Wenatchee. He was an outstanding football player in high school. He was strong, fast and fearless. You did not want to be across from him on the field. He had many talents growing up. He could run any heavy equipment they put him on and eventually drove semi trucks for Lovitt Mining Company, Silica Sand Company, Cannon Gold Mine and Asmera Gold Mine. He retired and started painting hot rod cars and trucks as a side job. Jack and June then decided to build and remodel their first classic car together, a 1949 Chevy. They drove that car to many car shows and multiple times down Grant Road in the Classy Chassis Parade. His last, and the job he was the most proud of, was helping Troy and Kim run Tip Top Orchard. He loved showing off the trees and fruit. He was proud of the development of the new variety of cherry that became the Skylar Rae, which was named after his granddaughter that had passed away. He would always say "He grew them and the family gets them off." Jack married his high school sweetheart June on June 14th, 1969. Their courtship started when they were 12 years old. The love they had was everlasting, genuine, and rare. They built a foundation for the family and family was everything to him. Jack loved June with all his heart, in his eyes she walked on water. June was his angel who took good care of him until it was his time to leave this earth. He will be deeply missed by her and all of his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., at Circle 5 Winery, 3400 10th Street SE, East Wenatchee, WA, 98802.
