Jack Verellen

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Scott Luc Verellen of East Wenatchee, who left us far too soon on April 16, 2025. Jack was a kind soul with quiet strength and a heart that touched everyone he met. A caring friend and loyal companion, Jack had a gift for making others feel seen, heard, and supported. He found his joy on the slopes from a young age, joining the Mission Ridge Ski Team at just seven years old. From his first runs to his final races at age twelve, he grew not only in skill but in spirit, always eager, fearless, and full of laughter. What made those years especially meaningful was Jack’s genuine connection with his coaches and teammates, turning every practice and snowy morning into something more than just sport. Their bond on the mountain was something truly special. Jack had a heart that beat in rhythm with the wild. He felt most alive under open skies, surrounded by towering trees and the quiet magic of the forest. This summer, he was eagerly looking forward to spending his time outdoors, ready to sleep beneath the stars, and lose himself in the wonder of the natural world he loved so deeply. His excitement was contagious, his spirit unshakable, and his connection to nature truly beautiful. Jack was an amazing big brother—always taking time to play and talk with his little brother, Flynn, never missing a chance to show up for his baseball games. Their bond was strong and full of laughter. Jack loved Flynn deeply, and he often talked about wanting two kids of his own someday, making sure they’d be close in age, so they could share a connection like the one he treasured with his little brother. Jack’s warmth, laughter, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving parents, Breanna and Clayton Verellen; his younger brother, Flynn; his grandparents, Sally and Randy McLandress, Louise Verellen, and Allen Dietz; and his uncle, Max Verellen—along with a close circle of friends, teammates, and extended family who cherished him dearly. A Celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Thursday, May 8th, at 1 p.m. at Eastmont Baptist Church, 400 S Kentucky Ave., East Wenatchee.
