Jackie I. Schloe

Jackie Schloe passed away at home, September 10, 2023 at the age of 81. Jackie was born in West Plains, MO to parents, Jack and Ruby McCleary. The family moved to Medford, OR where she met her husband of 64 years, Glen Schloe. They married in December of 1958. The couple moved around several times before settling down in Boise, ID for 20 years while raising their three children. She was an avid gardener, spending hours tending to her beloved roses. Work called them away to Vancouver, WA until 1999, when retirement allowed them to move to East Wenatchee. Jackie worked numerous jobs including Aquatics Director for the Boise Family YMCA, where she taught swimming and life saving, as well as worked with special needs children alongside the Special Olympics. Summer months were spent being the nurse at the YMCA's McCall, ID camp. She also spent time managing a bowling alley, a sport she loved and stayed active in until retirement. Upon moving to Vancouver, she became self employed as an Avon representative. As with all things work related, she did it on a high level, opening a retail shop as well as the traditional delivery methods, receiving multiple sales awards. During retirement, she volunteered at Cascade Elementary as a classroom helper and enjoyed supporting the neighborhood kids as they participated in sports. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Jay and Dale McCleary. She leaves behind her husband, Glen of the home; sons, Doug (Karel) and Devin, daughter Dana Hart (Mike); grandsons, Michael and Jacob "JT"; brothers, Tommy, Rex, and Mark; sisters, Cherry, Sherry and Patricia. A Memorial Service for Jackie will be Friday, September 22, 12:00pm, at Celebration Lutheran Church, 801 8th St. NE, East Wenatchee, WA. Visitation will be Thursday, September 21, 3:00-6:00pm at Chapel of the Valley, 378 Eastmont Ave., East Wenatchee. Arrangements by Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
