Katherine Marr

Katherine (Kity) (Kathy) Marr went to be with her beloved Lord on July 2, 2025, at the age of 85. Katherine was born the oldest daughter to Peter and Marjorie Singer in Grand Forks, BC, on July 31, 1939. She married Emerson L. Marr after a 17-year courtship on March 21, 1987. She attended Eastern Washington College at Cheney for one year. She worked as the Curlew School District secretary 1958-1963; Ferry County Clerk IT, Republic 1963-67; Dominion Motors, Colville 1967; and retired May 1, 1995, from the State of Washington, Dept. of Social and Health Services after a career of 27.5 years as an office manager. For many years, she was a member of Calvary Bible church, singing in the choir, playing in the bells and chimes choir, and brass ensemble. She sang with the Wenatchee Valley Appleaires Choral Society for 30 years. She volunteered for many years in the NPAC office. She was most proud of being awarded the Stanley Lifetime Achievement award for volunteering in December 2021. All NPAC’s staff are her family. She also enjoyed Apple Sox games. She is survived by two sisters: Sally Siegel of Odessa and Sherry Johnson of Wauconda. Three nephews: Roland (Jennifer) Singer, Danville; David (Kate) Johnson, Fairbanks, AK; and Gary (Christine) Johnson, Curlew; and one niece, Dawn (Kris) Nelson, Creston. Also survived by five great nephews: Peter Johnson, Caleb Singer, Bryan Johnson, Bradly Singer, and Derik Johnson, and three great nieces: Jessica Johnson, Macey Singer, and Laren Nelson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Singer, of Curlew, and three generations of nephews and nieces by marriage. Preceded in death by parents, husband, brother, Jim Singer, sisters-in-law Edna Standerfer, Ethel Turnipseed, Peg Ducan, brothers-in-law Robert Schuman, Ron Duncan, Tom Johnson, and Steven Siegel. She was raised on a ranch in Northern Ferry County, where the ranch's north fence was the Canadian Border. A Graveside service will be Thursday, July 24, 2025 1:00 pm at Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum, 1301 10th St, East Wenatchee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Emerson Marr Youth Camp Scholarship account at Calvary Bible Church, 605 First St., Wenatchee, WA 98801. She would like to thank the kidney dialysis crew since September 2022 for the care she received and the link bus system. Arrangements by Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
