Lendell Ann Meyer Lendell moved from her earthly home to her heavenly mansion on January 16, 2015. She was surrounded by her loving family. Lendell was the oldest of five children born to Eugene Leonard and Eva Idell (James) Reece. She was born in Spur, TX in the same house her mother was born in. The Reece family farmed in various locations, before moving to Plainview, TX. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at the age of 12. After one year of piano lessons, she became church pianist at 14 years of age. She graduated with honors in Business from Plainview High School, was active in choir and was an all-conference volleyball player. Lendell met Leon, her husband of 60 years, while in high school and they served together full time in music, youth, education and pastoral ministries in the Southern Baptist denomination in Texas, California, and Washington. She was involved in every aspect of ministry, but her most remarkable ministry was as a pianist for over 64 years. Their evangelism-revival ministry reached many churches in numerous states. They owned cherry and apple orchards in Wenatchee and Cashmere, always working together. Lendell enjoyed the hobbies of sewing, needle crafts, gardening, painting, puzzles of all kinds, and was a formidable 42 player. She collected angel figurines and it is precious to know that she is now with them in person. She was an excellent cook and a gracious hostess. Her words were always appropriate and kind - even in moments of deep pain and suffering, she thanked those assisting her - and she never complained about anything. She loved her family, people and life. She was a wonderful example of the virtuous woman found in Proverbs 31. Her great desire was to help others to accomplish their best and lead them to know Jesus Christ. Lendell was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Patsy (Rick) Ford, Tim (Alice) Meyer, and Sue (Jon) Torrence. She was blessed with ten grandchildren, Alethea, Tristan, Steve (Hannah), Elizabeth (Philippe), Cheri (Dave), Melody, Rachel, Daniel, Alyssa, and Jason. She also had three great-grandchildren, Lauren, Anastasia, and Easton, with one on the way. She has two brothers, Gene and Leon, and two sisters, Sharon and Ginny, who all live in Arkansas, and a host of other relatives and friends. A Funeral Service honoring Lendell will be held at Telford's Chapel of the Valley in East Wenatchee on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Services to follow at the Wenatchee City Cemetery.
