Loretta Mae Bush

Loretta Mae (MacKenzie) Bush Born in Seattle on September 10, 1927. Died in Wenatchee on June 11, 2020. Loretta was the eldest of 5 children and the only one born in a hospital. The family moved around while following the fruit until they moved to Wenatchee. Loretta finished her schooling in Wenatchee. Graduating from H.B. Ellison Jr. High School. It wasn't long after that that she met the love of her life and married Joe Bush. They were married for a little over 55 years before Dad's passing. Loretta belonged to the Order of Eagles Lady's Auxiliary for about 55 years. Her and her Mother (Zeita MacKenzie) worked on the Sewing Club for many many years. Loretta also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary for 74 years. Being the President for many many years. Secretary/Treasurer for a good 10 plus years. She was also the Vice President who is the chairman for the Poppies for many years. Also helped out with the Poppies after being chairman. She helped with the sewing club for over 10 years when the Auxiliary did this. When the Legion had Bingo Loretta made the sandwiches that the Auxiliary sold there for a fund raiser. Loretta was in charge of the Legion Birthday dinner for way over 20 years. She had to give this up because of age. She was also a Housemother for the Girls State for way over 10 years. Mom really loved watching young girls grow and learn about the government. Loretta also belonged to the 8/40 Salon #246 for 57 years. Going thru all the chairs and being the Chapeau for many years. Loretta and her daughter have done the Christmas Party for over 20 years. This has been a very small portion of what Loretta has done with and for Eagles, Legion Auxiliary and the 8/40. Mom was a stay at home Mom for many years until she went to work for Cedargreens (Simlpot). She retired from there when they moved to Quincy. Us kids were in Junior High School when this happened and we hated coming home from school to no Mom there. This took some time to get used to. Mom was the BEST COOK in the world and could bake anything you wanted. There was always an open place for someone at the table. Us kids were always bringing someone home for dinner. As we were growing up Mom made most of our clothes. Sometimes matching and most of the time not. Mom embroidered, knitted, crocheted, and sewed. She always wanted to do tatting and was sad that that was the one thing she did not learn from her Mother Loretta was preceded in death by her Mother and Father (Zeita and Joe MacKenzie), one Brother (Joe MacKenzie), two Sisters (Margaret(Magie) Lee and Mary Smith). Her husband James(Joe) Bush and one son Kelly Bush. Loretta is survived by one Stepson Jerry Bush from Nevada, one Son Marc Bush from East Wenatchee, WA, one daughter Ginger (Rodney) Ropp from East Wenatchee, WA. A couple of Special daughters and their children, Brenda Sharp, Brian Cockrum, Janet Mabes, Andrea Nelson, Jamie Mabes. Five Grandchildren and Eight Great Grandchildren and there are too many more to list. Mom adopted almost everyone we would bring home. Mom loved her God and Jesus. She lived her life as a true Christian. She is with them now and she will be so so missed.
