Louis Lowell

Louie passed away Saturday, May 4th, at home after a prolonged illness. Louie was born August 15th, 1934, in Leavenworth, Washington, to Ernest and Inez Lowell. Louie was 89 at passing and worked for the US Postal Service for 37 years. Louie met Patricia McMullen in Long Beach, California, in 1956 while he was in port on leave from the US Navy. They married in 1957 and had two children, Sally, and Mike. After he was honorably discharged from the Navy, he worked for the post office in Maywood, California, until he was transferred to the Wenatchee post office. Louie and Pat enjoyed traveling in their motor home after retirement, visiting all but 2 states. They belonged to River City Sams for many years and looked forward to camping every month with wonderful friends. Louie also enjoyed coaching women's fastpitch softball and youth baseball. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting and above all working in his shop making many beautiful things with his passion for woodworking. During the holiday season Louie had a labor of love creating elaborate Christmas decorations to adorn their yard and attempting to one-up his brother Harry. In his later years he spent a great deal of time making intricate wooden ornaments, trees, cars and beautiful framed pictures. He enjoyed giving his wonderfully crafted items to family and friends. He made hope chests and steamer trunks for all his grandchildren upon graduation. Louie was loved by everyone who knew him. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 67 years Pat, son Mike (Tami) Lowell, daughter Sally (Lynn) Stutzman. Five precious grandchildren, Jennifer (Brandon) Troxler, Chad (Tori) Stutzman, Kelsey (Darren) Spaeth, Whitnee (Brandon) Coble and Shay Lowell. Nine beautiful great grandchildren truly brightened his life. Chloie Troxler, Emma Troxler, Jase Troxler, Blake Stutzman, Tinley Stutzman, Aiden Coble, Jax Coble, Olivia Spaeth and Ava Spaeth. His little ray of sunshine his dog Ellie. He is also survived by his sister Wynona Leake, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harry, Bill, and Howard, and sisters Judy Chrisco, Verna Weber, and Ruth McFarland. To know him was to love him. A Celebration of Life will be held June 1st at 11:00 AM at Faith Presbyterian Church, 200 South Kentucky Ave., East Wenatchee, WA.
