Mari Lee Sollinger

Mari Lee Sollinger-Weller passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, with her family by her side, after courageously battling breast cancer for seven years. She was born in Wenatchee, WA on October 25, 1960 to Vern and Edna (Sines) Sollinger. She grew up and graduated in Cashmere and married Tim Bovee in 1980. While being a Marine wife to Tim, she also became the proud mother of Alicia (1982) and Kevin (1984). They moved back to the valley and made a beautiful home in East Wenatchee, WA, on a plot of neglected orchard land. Mari's love of nature, bugs, any number of animals and her remarkable green thumb created an oasis surrounding their home. She later married Lyle Weller in 2004 and continued to add a Koi pond and numerous more plants, be they flowers, vegetables or fruit. She was truly gifted and could make anything grow. She worked as a Pharmaceutical Tech at MediCap, Bi-Mart and retired from Wal-Mart when she was diagnosed. During these years, she made many long-lasting friendships with those she met. She particularly enjoyed interacting with the senior crowd, listening to their life's lessons and the many stories they had. She was also fond of any and all crafts and baking goodies to share. One of her favorite activities was going for "rides." It didn't matter where or when, just get in the car and go. Sometimes a two-hour drive could take quite a while, as she'd stop and check out anything that caught her eye. Mari had incredible faith in the Lord and after she knew her life on earth was short, she shared that she was not scared and it felt like she was getting ready for the "Best Vacation Ever!" Mari will be greatly missed as she was so loved. She is survived by her loving husband, Lyle Weller of East Wenatchee, WA; daughter, Alicia Stewart of Arlington, WA; son, Kevin Bovee of Wenatchee, WA; brother, Gerald Sollinger (Jo) of Cashmere, WA; sister, Bonnie Sollinger (Mark Patterson) of Cashmere, WA; stepson, Phillip (Sarah) Weller of Wenatchee, WA; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mari was preceded in death by her parents. A Celebration and Remembrance of Mari's Life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to give memorials may consider The American Cancer Society.
