Marian Warning

Marian B Warning Wenatchee, WA October 17, 1923 - Mary 14, 2021 Marian Bliss Brown was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on October 17, 1923 to Burton and Grace Brown. She grew up the youngest of three children and after high school, she attended the University of Wyoming. In 1943, Marian withdrew from college and enlisted in the Navy WAVES (Women Accepted for Voluntary Emergency Service). Always an adventurer, Marian, wanted to serve her country, and she served in Communications as a Yeoman 2nd Class. During her service, she was stationed in New York, Pearl Harbor and San Francisco. Marian worked directly with Admiral Nimitz who fondly called her "Brownie". After 3 years of honorable service to her country, Marian was discharged in 1946. Marian stayed in the San Francisco Bay area where she met and married Donald A. Warning, who had also served in the US Navy. They married in August of 1948 and had two children, John (1949) and Janine (1952). Don and Marian raised their children in San Jose while he worked as a firefighter and she worked as a secretary for the Cambrian School District for 25 years. In their "spare" time, Don and Marian built homes together, totaling 17 in their lifetime. Together they designed, built, landscaped, and sold their homes, each time making the next one better than the last. Marian and Don enjoyed fishing together and they went on many hunting trips throughout the west with family and friends. Marian loved kids- her own, her students at school, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marian enjoyed spending time with her family, and she was usually the life of the party. She loved animals too and had several parrots that travelled with them on hunting and fishing trips. Marian also travelled the world with her son, daughter, and friends to over 65 countries. Marian enjoyed volunteering for The Wenatchee Wild as an usher. She rarely missed a game and loved rooting her team on to victory. Marian is survived by her two children, John Warning (Sue) and Janine Welty (Joe), four grandchildren, Nicole Schmauder (John), Brian Rudin (Ashley), Christopher Rudin (Stephanie) Jonathan Warning, and six great-grandchildren, Juliette and Kyle Schmauder, Alice and Raleigh Rudin, and Rex and Ryan Rudin. At Marian's request, there will be no service. Please join Marian's family in remembering her for her kindness, loyalty, and love.
