Marion Onesha Shirley Traylor

Marion Traylor, age 83, of Wenatchee, WA, fell asleep in the Lord October 14, 2010. She was born Marion Shirley Onesha Humphrey on July 26, 1927, at York, WI. She graduated from Hixton High School. After graduation, she graduated from the Milwaukee School of Beauty at Eau Claire, WI. In 1947, she came to Wenatchee to live with an aunt, Mrs. Del P. Case. She attended Western College of Commerce, then later worked for the Veteran's Administration and the Office of Rent Control. Marion retired from Wenatchee Valley College after 32 years of dedicated service. During those years, she was an Assistant to the Dean of Instruction, Secretary to the President and the Department Coordinator for the Nursing Department. When she retired, a tree was planted in her honor on the college campus. In 1950, Marion was the Appleatchee Princess representative to the Ellensburg Rodeo. Her treasure was family; her strength was in the LORD, who blessed her with a loving, kind and gentle heart. She was the love of our lives and the family hers. She would get giddy with delight knowing a family member was coming for a visit. Her home was the hub of family togetherness, with lots of cooking, laughter and genuine unconditional love. She married Wayland Traylor in 1971; together, they ran a small cherry orchard and lived in one of the oldest homes in the Valley for over 38 years. In 1951, she was baptized into Christ and attended the Church of God Faith of Abraham. Marion later attended Calvary Bible Church for over 25 years. Then, in the later years, Marion and Wayland joined the Messiah Fellowship, whose focus was jail ministry. We miss your warm touch, comforting smile and loving embrace. Always, to the heavens and back again, we love you, we love you! She is survived by her children, Jill Brisbine (Brad) of Wenatchee, Grant Howard (Betty) of Stanwood, WA, Julie Bloomfield (Bill) of Olympia and Brent Howard (Jon) of Lynnwood, Matthew Traylor (Michelle) of Kennewick, Linda Martin (Elvis) of Wenatchee, Joy Schell (John) of Cashmere, Denise Carpenter (Jim) of Anchorage and Kevin Traylor of Nez Pierce, ID; one sister, Lois Humphrey-McManus of Cashmere; two half-brothers, Darryl and Daniel Humphrey, both of Wisconsin; and one step-sister, Gloria Hamilton of Oregon. She also leaves four grandchildren, Lindsey, Erin, Jesse and Joshua; as well as 13 step-grandchildren. Her mother, father, stepmother, husband, stepsister and half-brother preceded her in death. We thank and are so grateful to the doctors and nurses at Central Washington Hospital, for their excellent care and services, which they so willingly provided. Services of Commemoration will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at the Living Hope Community Church, in Wenatchee, WA. Concluding Graveside Services will be held at Wenatchee City Cemetery, with a Reception to follow at the church. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday, October 18, 2010, at Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, WA. Donations may be made to the NCW Jail Chaplain Ministry and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
