Marjorie Lorraine Thompson October 21, 1927 ~ March 3, 2014 Marjorie Lorraine Thompson passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2014, in the early morning. Marj was born October 21, 1927, in Scobey, MT. Marj was the fifth of seven children born to Henry and Hulda Thompson. Marj remained in Scobey to finish high school when the family moved to Wenatchee to be near Hulda's sister, Victoria Telford. She lived with another family for a few years until graduating in 1946, at which time she, too, moved to Wenatchee. Marj's first job in Wenatchee was at a loan company. She left that job at age 19 to work at North Central Chevrolet. She continued to work in the car industry until her 80th birthday. She earned a special letter of recognition from the Northwest Dealers' Association for her 60 years of dedication to the automobile industry. Marj made a significant impact on the lives of many people and was admired for her compassion and acceptance of others. Marj was a founding member of Celebration Lutheran Church, to which she dedicated numerous hours, always arriving early and leaving last. Marj enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, attending bible studies and talking politics. Marj was an avid sports fan, subscribing to Sports Illustrated from its inception. Each year she had her favorite teams and players to watch and cheer on. Marj is survived by her sister, Beryl Graff of Scobey, MT; and her brother and his wife, Cecil and Doris Thompson of Wenatchee. Marj is survived by 13 of her 15 nieces and nephews, their children and grandchildren. She is also survived by five of the remaining Telford cousins. Marj was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Hulda Thompson; brother, Oscar Thompson; and sisters, Marie Stennes, Audrey Albrecht, and Deloris Jean Montgomery. A Memorial Service for Marjorie Thompson will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at Celebration Lutheran Church, 801 8th Street NE, East Wenatchee. Viewing will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014, at Telford's Chapel of the Valley in East Wenatchee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Celebration Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Central Washington Hospital Hospice.
