Marjorie Fern Troxel

Marjorie Fern Troxel, aged 90, passed away March 17, 2012 at home in Malaga. Marge was born April 25, 1921 at home in Manson, WA, to Elmo Stanford Morse and Margaret (Barrett) Morse, joining siblings Ivan D. and Mary E. Morse. She grew up in the hills above Manson, Class of "39", where she walked two miles to school, up hill both ways. This prepared her for a life of walking in which she was still carrying a back pack in the Cascades in her sixties. On Novermber10, 1940 she married Eugene Wilton Troxel at Manson. They had four children, Rollan, Herbert, Karen and David. In 1946 they moved to Malaga where she was active in school and community activities including 4H, PTA, Community Council and Girl Scouts. At camp she was "Doodlebug" to a generation of scouts. Always interested in all things natural she took great pleasure in showing scouts, her descendants, and anyone who would listen, the wonder and beauty of our world and was always eager to learn more about it. She enjoyed her family, genealogy, flowers, camping, hiking, crosswords, leather work, quilting, learning, and being out of doors. She was preceded to Heaven by husband, Gene Troxel, brother and sister-in-law Ivan and Velma Morse, sister and brother-in-law Mary and Daryl M. Brown, and niece Dana Wentz. She leaves behind children Rollan Troxel, Herb Troxel (Carol), Karen Boodasingh (Clyde), and David Troxel (Cindy). She was grandmother to Cindy Blaufuss (Greg), Kris Troxel (Rick Olson), Will Troxel (Deanna), Dori Virden (Mike), Jeff Hooper, Derek Carlson (Lana), Darci Carlson (James Dickinson), Lisa McCollough, Catina Breault, Kevin Troxel, Adam Troxel, and Elizabeth Clayburn (Adam) and many other children who crossed her path. She had 29 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-law Lillian Troxel and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation of Marge will be held in the Telford's Chapel, East Wenatchee, WA 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Friday, March 23, 2012. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday afternoon, beginning at 3:00 PM March 24, 2012 at the Church of the Nazarene in Wenatchee.
