Michael F. Rovang

Mike Rovang December 29, 1962 ~ March 13, 2013 After a yearlong battle with brain cancer, Mike Rovang went to his eternal rest on March 13, 2013, at his family home in East Wenatchee, with his loving family surrounding him. Mike was born on December 29, 1962, in Wenatchee, WA to Forrest Rovang and Dolores (Sandhop) Rovang. He joined two brothers, Randy and Scott and two sisters, Pam and Shari. When he was two months old, the family moved to Dryden, WA, where they resided for six years, before moving back to Wenatchee. Along with his siblings, he attended and graduated from Wenatchee Schools, where he made many lifelong friends. In 1979, he met the love of his life, Diane Marie Burris and they married on May 31, 1986. Two children were born of this union, Joshua Michael on October 31, 1987, and Kylie Marie on June 22, 1991. Mike was an exceptional husband, father, son, brother and friend to all who knew him. Mike got his dream job when he was hired for the IT Department of Wenatchee Valley Medical Center in 2000, later becoming a Project Manager. His job was his passion and he loved it dearly. He was well liked at the clinic and the feeling was mutual. He worked there until late spring of 2012, when his health problems made it necessary for him to leave. Mike and Diane both loved to travel and made many special trips to various places around the world. He was also a huge sports fan and enjoyed attending many Mariner, Seahawks, and WSU games with friends and family. Mike is survived by his wife, Diane; son, Josh of Boise, ID; and daughter, Kylie of East Wenatchee; his mother, Dee Ingle of Wenatchee; brothers, Randy (Mary) of Whidbey Island and Scott of North Dakota; and sisters, Pam (Dann) Puckett of Mukilteo and Shari Richards of Lynnwood. Mike also leaves behind many cousins, nephews and nieces, plus many friends who will miss him and his sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Irving and Genny Rovang, and Roy and Bernice Eldredge; and his father, Forrest Rovang. The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. Garrison and Teresa of Wenatchee Valley Medical Center's Oncology Department, Hospice and all of those who have offered their support to him and his family this past year. We will all miss our beloved husband, father, son and brother and he will be in our hearts forever. Fly free Mike, you have earned it. A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held at Telford's Chapel of the Valley on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brain Cancer Program at Swedish Hospital or to any charity of your choice. Arrangements by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
