Nancy Cave

Nancy Ann Cave Nancy Ann Cave, 80, of East Wenatchee, ascended to heaven on March 5, 2016 into the waiting arms of her one true love who had been waiting for her for 21 years. Nancy was born October 18, 1935 to Gilbert and Cora Faunce in Washington, D.C.. She was raised and attended school in the District of Columbia until moving to Falls Church, VA. in 1954. She began work for the Administration Office of the U.S. Courts in 1955. Nancy worked her way up the ladder as high as she could go for a woman as a Supervisor Procurement Agent until she left in 1978 to move to Washington State. Nancy was an avid bowler and through this sport met the love of her life, Al Cave. They married March 13, 1963 in Falls Church, VA. They started their life together in Manassas, VA. and had their two daughters, Jennifer and Chelane, there. In 1978, Al and Nancy packed the girls up and drove cross country to Al's home town of Wenatchee to take care of his aging parents, Roy and Irene Cave. Nancy held a variety of jobs including Eastmont Lanes, Simplot, Cascadian Fruit, and Rhoda's Tax Service. For 17 years prior to her retirement in 2003, Nancy managed the Maid O'Clover in East Wenatchee. She loved her customers! She missed seeing and talking to them daily upon her retirement. Besides bowling, she loved to read, do crossword puzzles, crochet, watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and spend time with family. Her greatest joy and comfort was her grandsons, Jake, Mitchell and Michael. Her boys could do no wrong in Nana's eyes. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Sam Thacker and daughter Chelane Paine all of East Wenatchee, step daughter Beverly Waterman of Moses Lake, grandsons Jake and Mitchell Thacker and Michael Paine all of East Wenatchee, step grandchildren Mike Waterman of Illinois, Bryanne Hendricks of Kansas, and Brock Radford of Oklahoma , sister Gloria Monroe and brother and sister-in-law Bill and Joanne Faunce of Virginia, sister-in-laws Alice Day of Arlington and Audrey Smedly of Vancouver, cousin Betty Wagoner of Twisp and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, an infant daughter, Sharon, brother in-law Lee Cave and her beloved husband. A celebration of life will be held later this summer.
