Nancy Rae Lynn

Nancy Rae Lynn February 23, 1940 ~ September 4, 2013 Nancy Rae Lynn, 73 years of age, crossed over into everlasting, eternal life the evening of September 4, 2013. She was born in Wenatchee on February 23, 1940, to Tom and Jean Birmingham and was raised in the Wenatchee Valley with her brothers, Dave and Larry. She was married at a young age and spent her middle years living in the Yakima Valley, raising four children, running a daycare center and writing a column for the local newspaper. Nancy later moved to Oregon, where she met and married Jerry Lynn. They moved to the Wenatchee Valley in 1985, where she lived out the rest of her days, surrounded by family and friends. She retired from the East Wenatchee Police Department after 17 years of service. After retiring from a job she loved, Nancy continued to be involved in the community; volunteering on the Central Washington Hospital Hospice Board and serving as Civil Service Secretary Examiner for the East Wenatchee Police Department. She was very proud of being a member of the first graduating class of Eastmont High School. Nancy looked forward to getting together with her high school classmates for their monthly luncheons, where they would talk about old times as well as catch up on the new. She was an avid football and baseball fan and thoroughly enjoyed watching the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Jean Birmingham; and husband Jerry Lynn. She is survived by two brothers, David (Anita) Birmingham and Larry (Phyllis) Birmingham, both of East Wenatchee; two sons, Kurt Klotzbuecher (Jeanne Reeves) of East Wenatchee and Erich Klotzbuecher of Kent; two daughters, Erin (Mike) Simpson of Wenatchee, and Nicole Wilkie of Seattle; one step-son, Gary Lynn of Portland, OR; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. She will be forever remembered for her strength, unconditional love, warm heart, quick wit, sharp tongue and bright smile. A special thanks to the Hospice staff, who helped keep Nancy comfortable in her last weeks at home. The family wishes to also express their appreciation for all the prayers, words of comfort and acts of kindness from friends during Nancy's long battle with cancer. If desired, donations may be made to Central Washington Hospital Hospice or Cancer Care of NCW. Graveside Services will be held Friday, September 13, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Eastmont Baptist Church, 400 S. Kentucky Avenue, East Wenatchee, WA 98802. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013, from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
