Norval Neumiller Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Norval L. Neumiller, 90, a resident of Wenatchee since 1953, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 26, 2009. He was born March 30, 1919 at Roseau, Minnesota. Norval spent his younger years living in Minnesota. He joined the US Army in 1942 and served in Africa and Italy, receiving a Purple Heart and his Honorable Discharge in 1945. In 1942, he married Betty Smith in Minnesota. They moved to Wenatchee in 1953. Betty passed away in 2003. Norval worked for Wells & Wade Hardware prior to working for the Chelan County Shops, retiring in 1981. On May 22, 2004, he married longtime friend, Pearl Akers, at Wenatchee where they had since made their home. Norval enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, fishing and gardening. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Wenatchee. Survivors include his wife, Pearl, Wenatchee; daughter, Sharlyn (Joel) Shiflett, East Wenatchee; son, Rylan Smith, Marysville; step-son, Skip (Margie) Laney, Wenatchee; step-daughters, Sandee (Chance) Harris, Wenatchee, Linda (Pat) Lippincott, Walla Walla and Cheryl (Wayne) Jones, Vancouver; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norval was preceded in death by his son, Allen Smith, in April 2009; and brother, Romey Neumiller. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Calvary Bible Church in Wenatchee. Viewing will take place on Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
