Peggy Marie Teulilo

Peggy Marie Teulilo Rock Island, WA Peggy was born March 20, 1950, in Colfax, WA. Peggy was found dead in her home on July 25, 2018, in Rock Island, WA, an apparent victim of domestic violence. Peggy was the fifth of seven children born to Bert and Sylvia Jahn. She attended grade school in Wilbur, WA. In 1962, the family moved to Ephrata, WA, and she attended St. Rose of Lima School through the eighth grade. She graduated from Ephrata High School in 1968. In 1972, she married Craig Cournoyer. They adopted two siblings from Costa Rica, and another boy from Western Samoa. The family spent many years living on their 44' sailboat, living for seven years anchored off the island of Oahu, and another seven anchored off Pago Pago, American Samoa. The couple divorced in 2000; and, in 2005, Peggy married Don Brodie. Peggy and Don proceeded to laugh their way through the next (almost) three years. Sadly, Don was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and died in 2008. In 2011, Peggy married Ului Teulilo. In Peggy's early twenties, she joined the Seventh-day Adventists and dedicated her life to Jesus. Her faith was her rock; she especially enjoyed worship that included music, motivating her to learn to play the piano. It was through church life that she was asked to provide live-in care for an elderly couple. Peggy found the work to be a real calling for her, and she continued in the field of geriatrics, a blessing to those recipients of her love and care. All who knew Peggy were drawn to her positive nature and ability to find the best in everyone. She loved to laugh. She loved to play word and card games with family and friends. She was a joy. Peggy was preceded in death by a brother, James Karl (1969); her parents, Sylvia (1980) and Bert (2005); and beloved step-mother, Thelma Emerson Jahn (2005). She is survived by her three sons: Joseph and Filipo Cournoyer, both of Aberdeen, WA, and Henry Cournoyer of Lacey, WA; grandson, Josiah; and granddaughter, Angel Cournoyer. She is also survived by her siblings: Bobbie Gray of Kona, HI, Carol (Mike) Donnelly of Lexington, KY, Jerry Jahn of Spokane, WA, Bruce (Carol) Jahn of Seattle, WA, and Judy (Dennis) Jensen of Seattle, WA; three bonus siblings added to the family when Bert Jahn married Thelma Emerson in 1983, include Dan (Midori) Emerson of Puyallup, WA, Elizabeth Harrington of Clarkston, WA, and Laura (Scott) Watkins of East Wenatchee, WA. Additionally, many nieces and nephews (and great-nieces and nephews) mourn her loss. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at the church Peggy attended: Valley View Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1201 10th St. NE, East Wenatchee, WA, 98802.
