Pete Harrison

Pete Harrison, age 87, passed away in the late evening hours of March 21, 2026. He was born on February 6, 1939, in Armpouna, Greece, the second eldest of four children. Following the loss of their father during the war, Pete and his older brother Bill were sent to live with their Uncle Sam and Aunt Tossie in Wenatchee, Washington, who owned The Windmill Restaurant. Pete's journey to America was completed in December of 1951. In 1957, Pete proudly became a naturalized United States citizen. Pete graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1960 and soon after enlisted in the United States Navy. He served four years as an electrical repairman aboard the USS Lexington and the USS Ranger, receiving an honorable discharge in 1964. After returning to Wenatchee, Pete began working for the phone company, GTE, where he met his future wife, Diane. He then took a job with a contracting company that took him briefly to Indiana, Idaho Falls, and then he came back to Wenatchee. In 1967, he married his love, Diane, whom he called his "Chelan Princess". Pete and Diane's journey together led them to Wyoming, where their daughter Lynda was born in 1972. His contracting work later took them to Jamaica and California before settling in Kennewick, Washington in 1974 and accepting a long and fulfilling engineering career again with GTE. In 1984, the family relocated to Woodinville, where Pete continued his career until retiring after 26 years with GTE, and moving to East Wenatchee in 2000 to fulfill his love of golfing. Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, and bowling in earlier years, but throughout the years, found that his true passion was for the game of golf. Although retired, being such a golf enthusiast, he began working at Highlander Golf Course in 2002 as a starter/player assistant until his last days. Pete was preceded in death by his parents and brother Johnny from Greece, and brother Bill. Surviving family includes: his cherished wife Diane, beloved daughter Lynda (Joey), grandson Thomas Pinard (Kota), granddaughter Kara Pinard (Abel), beautiful great-granddaughter Ellie Pinard, sister Krustallo of Greece, and nephew Randy Harrison (Maria). Pete was loved by all who knew him. He will forever be missed. He left a legacy of love that his family will cherish and pass on.
