Peter J. Lind

Our beloved Peter Jay Lind passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born to Frederick and Phyllis Lind on June 16, 1953, in Seattle, WA. He grew up and attended schools in Bellevue and then Issaquah, before moving to North Bend, where he lived for many years. Early in his career, he had owned his own trucking company and was a project engineer for a builder. In July 1999, Peter married Rozanne Gette, and shortly afterward moved to Wenatchee, WA. Peter graduated with honors from Wenatchee Valley Community College in 2002. He owned and operated Orion Computer Services. Pete particularly enjoyed speaking with the Computer Club at the Senior Center. He was a contributing columnist to The Good Life with monthly articles titled "The Night Sky This Month". Pete was an avid amateur astronomer, sharing his love of the night sky with the community and students at John Newbery, Columbia, Mission View elementary schools, and The River Academy. He and Rozanne delighted in hosting Apple Sox Baseball players for over ten years, making life-long friends and cheering the team on to many victories. Peter was a natural teacher who served as a docent for the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center, as well as Art on the Avenues' Beauty of Bronze Field Experience for all 5th graders in the Wenatchee School District. Peter is survived by his loving wife, Rozanne; his son, Peter Jamison; his mother, Phyllis Lind of Sun City, AZ; his step-son, Dustin Middaugh; his step- daughter, Callie Hill (Mike); brothers: Michael Lind and Chris Lind (Lisa); sisters: Beth Wilson (Paul), Marty Thompson (Erik) and Deborah Lozano (Ray); numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special grandchildren: John and Josie Flitton. We wish to express sincere appreciation to Hospice nurses and Dr. Lindsay Overton and her staff at the Wenatchee Valley Clinic. A Celebration of Peter's Life will be held at their church, First United Methodist Church, in Wenatchee at 941 Washington St., on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Art on the Avenues/Beauty of Bronze, P.O.
