Robert Moyer

Robert “Bob” Steven Moyer, 73 of East Wenatchee, Washington, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at his home. He was born on August 15th, 1950 in Culver City, CA. In his younger years, Bob embodied the wayfarer’s spirit wandering around the country exploring whatever and wherever he felt like. As a Desert Drifter he was a rolling stone on his Moto Guzzi. He never thought twice about pulling off for a night on the side of the road, which is where his spirit felt most at ease. Bob’s family spanned far and wide. His travels would inevitably lead to your doorstep with a broad smile and a big hug for a greeting. Eventually, Bob settled into the trades becoming a master carpenter. As talented as they come, Bob could build anything starting with nothing more than a mental plan. His homes were in both Omak and Wenatchee, where his heartfelt endeavor for construction was not only for his own enjoyment. His soul mission was creating a welcoming home for his loved ones. After many years in the trades, Bob joined the Chelan County PUD team as a Construction Inspector, where he would spend his career until retirement. Bob was a man of many hobbies. He loved spending time camping, fishing, taking his dogs for a walk, and spending time in his garden. You wouldn’t catch this man sitting around much unless it was in front of his firepit; or on his porch with a cup of coffee in one hand, a western novel in the other, and his dog laying by his side watching for squirrels. Those who knew Bob understood that his joy has always been riding his motorcycles and fixing them up, along with Volkswagens and anything else that needed it. In his beloved shop he had everything he needed and the know-how to do it. He would travel far and wide just to help someone out - or if they needed something built. Bob treasured many things, but most importantly he treasured his tribe. Even as a drifter, Bob’s presence would always make you feel at home - no matter where he was. An original that will be deeply missed and be remembered fondly. Preceding him in death are his father Kenneth Moyer and mother Elma (Townsley) Gay, sister Jeanette (Moyer) Stone and brother Richard Moyer. He is survived by his two sons, Jesse Moyer and Riley Moyer. his grandson River Moyer, and step-children Chris Moyer (Big Chris), Chris Ewer, Jamari Rodriguez and Sierra Evans. He is also survived by his sisters, Janice Moyer (Arizona), Lucille Moyer (Oregon), and Shirley Moyer Trotter (Oregon), two brothers Ed Waldo (Idaho) and Kameron Devin (Washington), thirteen nieces and nephews, and the many more who have been with him throughout the ages. His family meant the world to him and he was treasured by his family. We will miss him, his happy smiling face, his wise eyes. Forever in our hearts.
