Scott W. Brundage Scott W. Brundage, 71, a longtime resident of the Wenatchee Valley and Chelan, with family members with him, passed away August 4, 2018, at Confluence Health Hospital. He was born on February 3, 1947, to Wallace and Helen (Wagner) Brundage in Chicago Illinois. Raised and educated in Madison, Hill Point, and Reedsburg, Wisconsin; moved with his parents to Wenatchee after his High School graduation in 1965. Scott enlisted in the army and trained at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, followed by a few years in South Korea near the DMZ and broadcasting news for the Armed Forces Television Network; very proud of his coverage of the Pueblo Crew release. Returning to the states after discharge, he joined his father working for KPQ Radio, a time he cherished but soon, he began to work for Henry Jackson's political campaign for the presidency, as a speech writer spending a fascinating time in Olympia and on the road to different states. He recalled Henry Jackson's wife saying that they needed a "long hair" (Scott at the time), in their campaign. When the campaign was over, Scott returned to the Wenatchee Valley and was invited to move to Chelan and work for KOZI Radio, where he was to spend 20 years covering news events, Back Burners, and Manson Trojan Sports. Manson Sports held a special place in Scott's heart. He covered all their games. He had a way of style that followed the ball, a second to none delivery of excitement and detail, which made it as close to actually watching the game (though listening to the radio) without missing a beat. He was invited to give motivating locker room speeches; and was a keynote for a Manson Graduation. Scott married and was a step dad, and enjoyed coaching little league. He lived for the theater and performed, wrote and directed in the Ruby Theater, The Crockery Restaurant dinner theater, and with the Chelan Valley Players. Scott was well known for his incomparable readings of Robert Service and his "Scrooge" and every other character he played. It was felt he was a big fish in a little pond, but he himself would never have said that. In 1992-2001, Scott served on the WVC Board of Trustees. In 1994 he remarried and travelled around the state for the Humanities Commission, performing Harry Truman. What an adventure. By 2009 he and his wife moved to East Wenatchee reducing her commute to work. Back in the Wenatchee Valley, Scott returned to KPQ to begin another series called The Other Side of the Coin. Scott Brundage is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his two step children, David and Danette, His brother Steve Brundage of Seattle, nephews Stephen Kuo and Neil and (Jin) Brundage, Cousin Jack and Barbara Brundage of Wenatchee and their children Linda and Debbie, and by his wife Lori and her mother Terril. This was his memorial in addition to the one on his Facebook page while he was still alive. Thank you to all his friends. Arrangements are by Chapel of the Valley. At the family's request, no funeral services are planned.
