Scott Robert Miller

Scott Robert West Miller, 24, passed away June, 26, 2009, from an accidental gunshot wound, at his home in Cashmere, WA. Scott was born December 21, 1984, in Everett WA, the son of Joy West and Robert Miller. He attended Cashmere High School and graduated in 2003. Scott was employed for over five years at the Cedarbrook Saunas in Cashmere as a woodworker; he was beginning a management partnership with the company. Scott grew up in Everett, WA and then Oso, WA and later moved to Cashmere, WA, where he lived for 16 years. Scott and his girlfriend of eight years, Lacey Pearson, resided at 5700 Vale Road in Cashmere, WA. As a teen, Scott worked with Youth with a Mission in Ensenada, Mexico, building homes for the homeless. Scott was a role model and friend for many youth in Cashmere and, on two separate occasions, Scott rescued children from the Wenatchee River. Scott was a man of simple faith and was completely genuine in everything he did. He was an entertaining and animated storyteller, who was known for being passionate and charismatic and had a smile that lit up any room. He was a defender of his friends and he always encouraged others to overcome their fears. Scott was persistent and stubborn and was talented at all he put his mind to. His many hobbies included extreme sports: motorcycling, BMX biking, skateboarding, acrobatics, water sports, boxing and snow sports, including snowboarding and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed mountain climbing and cliff jumping; anything extreme! In addition, he loved hiking, camping, drawing, jewelry making, carpentry and playing musical instruments, including the drums and guitar. Scott is survived by his parents, Robert and Susan Miller of Leavenworth and Tom and Joy West of Cashmere; his sister, Kimberly Beason, her husband, Bobby Beason and their daughter, Naomi Beason of Wenatchee; his brothers, Mark and Paul West of Cashmere and Larren and Jared Miller of Leavenworth; and his grandparents, Alta Hughes of Wenatchee, Hattie Riddle of Seattle, Alvin and Patty West of Spokane and Darlene West of Marysville. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Lacey Pearson; and his many admiring friends. Scott was preceded in death by his uncle, Ron Miller; and his childhood dog, "Woo." A Celebration of Scott's Life will be held at Barbie Beach, also known as Rodeo Hole, (off of Stines Hill Road) in Cashmere, WA on Friday, July 10, 2009, at 5:00 p.m., with a Gathering to follow at the home of his parents, Tom and Joy West, 323 Tigner Road, Cashmere, WA.
