Sharon Kay Smith

On May 31, 1953, Sharon Kay blessed this world with God's gift of care and nurturing. She was born to Joe David and Mary Emogene (Richison) Gann in Licking, MO. On March 20, 2009, she left us quietly and peacefully, to return to the Lord. Sharon's childhood years were spent in Missouri, until the family moved to Wenatchee when she was 13 years old. She was married to Harvey Smith on December 28, 1999. Her life was dedicated to serving others, especially her "joys of life," children, Brian Edward, Kandice Fawn, Eleazar Abraham and Charlena Figueroa. The proudest moments of Sharon's life were in her children's accomplishments. Until the day she passed, Sharon loved her children and grandchildren wholeheartedly, sacrificing her livelihood for their needs and happiness. Sharon's true spirit was in helping people. She spent many years as a CNA and care giver, a career which deeply inspired her. Sharon opened her heart and home to others selflessly, always giving consideration to the needs of others without judgment. Her ability to listen, give tough advice and unconditional love, will be forever imprinted in the lives of those she touched. Sharon called "a spade, a spade" and wouldn't back down from the truth for anyone. "An honest answer is the sign of true friendship." - Proverbs 24:26 "The greatest love a person can have for his friends is to give his life for them." - John 15:13 Sharon is survived by husband, Harvey Smith; mother, Mary Gann; sons, Brian Brooks (Amber) and Eleazar Sandoval; daughter, Kandice Guerrero (Phillip) and Charlena Figueroa; grandchildren, Tyler, Isaac and Natalie Brooks and Hailey, Mario and Lorena Guerrero; brothers, David (Brenda), Darrell, Ron, Marty, Billy (Jan), Lawrence, Jay Allen, Freddy, William and Travis Gann; sisters, Connie Fisher (Butch), Janice Robbins (Wilburn) and Shirley Hock (Jay); and 32 nieces and nephews, as well as Daisy and Tommy. She was preceded in death by father, Joe David Gann; nephew, Dustin Pierre Gann; niece, Destiny Gann; and best friend, Donna Figueroa. She will be remembered. A Celebration of Sharon's Life will be held on Monday, March 30, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Wenatchee. Telford's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
