Shawn Ites

Shawn Robert Ites passed into the arms of the Lord Jesus Christ on August 30, 2023, in Wenatchee, WA. Shawn’s passing was sudden and unexpected, and he will be deeply grieved and dearly missed. Born on November 5, 1967, in Milwaukee, WI, Shawn remained a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. Shawn put the miles on his Harley Davidson, including a trek to The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. In 2014 he drove his Harley from Iowa to Washington and settled in East Wenatchee. He married his wife, Shannon in Chelan, WA on June 30, 2015. They have resided in Quincy, WA for the past five years. Shawn, a devoted husband and father, cherished his family. All who knew him observed the adoration he showered upon his wife and children. They lived out “Adventures with Ites,” frequently loving life outdoors, camping, hiking, swimming and going to the races. All avid golfers, Shawn, Shannon and the kids were often on the links. Shawn enjoyed a good rock-n-roll song, never passed up an oldie and shared the love of music with his family. A history buff, Shawn would read for hours, sometimes the same book twice. Shawn didn’t know a stranger and always gave a welcome hug. His humor was infectious, ever at the ready with a witty response. He lived with a generous spirit, willing to help his extended family and was a devoted friend to many. Shawn was driven and an incredibly hard worker. He spent many years in real estate management before finding a family with Apple Valley Honda in East Wenatchee for the past nine years, where he was a Business Manager. His office was filled with photos of his family and drawings from his children. Shawn is proceeded in death by his mother, Patti Ites, Grandfather Kenneth Johnson and forever friend, Dale Parrish. Shawn is survived by his loving wife, Shannon Ites, their son Charlie Nels Ites and his daughter, Ellie Ruth Ites, his father, David Roberts (Lonnie), his parents-in-law, Charlie and Candy Layman, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cammie and Curtis Cole, niece, Sophie Cole, nephew, Landon Cole, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Leah and Robert Carthum, nephew, Nolan Carthum and niece, Naomi Carthum, Grandma, Judy Johnson, uncle, John and aunt, Jennifer Johnson, cousins Annie and Joey Johnson, cousin, Nancy Sherman and many extended family and friends. A Memorial Service for Shawn will be held Friday, September 8, 11:00am, at Chapel of the Valley, 378 Eastmont Ave., East Wenatchee, with a public viewing at 10:30 a.m. Burial is immediately following at Evergreen Memorial Park, 1301 10th St NE, East Wenatchee. Reception to be held at Apple Valley Honda, 400 Highline Drive, East Wenatchee afterward.
