Sherrie Lea Claibourn

Sherrie Lea Claibourn April 20, 1962 - April 29, 2017 Devoted wife and mother, Sherrie Lea Claibourn, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017, following an extended illness. She was born April 20, 1962, to parents, Damon and Ollie Lavender in Townsend, MT. With her family following her father's law enforcement career, she also lived in Kittitas, WA, and Quincy, WA. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1980. Her classes' commencement ceremony had to be moved inside and rescheduled due to the eruption of Mount St. Helens. In 1981, she married Lee Crosslin and moved to the Wenatchee, WA, area. From this marriage were born son, Justin, in 1983 and daughter, Jennifer, in 1985. In 1991, she wed Thomas Claibourn and relocated to Entiat, WA. She gave birth to her youngest son, Damon, in 1991. She successfully ran her own licensed daycare from 1992-2002, at which time she became employed with the Entiat School District as a Para Professional, where she was loved by many students. She was still working part time after her cancer diagnoses in 2016, which clearly showed her unwillingness to give up. Sherrie was an excellent cook, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, antique hunting, traveling and following the Mariners on TV. Her greatest pride and interest was in her family. During her children's school years, she regularly volunteered to help with their sporting activities, as well as working alongside her husband in the Entiat Booster Club for many years. She is survived by her husband, Tom Claibourn of Entiat, WA; son, Justin (Whitney) Crosslin of Brownsburg, IN; daughter, Jennifer Crosslin of Entiat, WA; son, Damon Claibourn of Kenmore, WA; grandchildren: Mandy, Abel, Colt and Celica. She is also survived by her aunt, Ruby Emerson of Medical Lake, WA; sisters: Kathy (Mike) Harrington of Wilbur, WA, and Rose (Paul) Pidde of Glenrock, WY; brothers: Jeff (Kim) Lavender of Livingston, MT, and Allen (Paula) Lavender of Townsend, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents, Damon and Ollie Lavender. The family would like to thank the staff of Entiat School District for all of their support, as well as extended family members, Reed and Rene Transtrom of Seattle, WA, for their help during all of Sherrie's treatments over the past months. At Sherrie's request, she will be cremated. A Memorial Celebration of her life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sherrie's memory can be made to the Entiat Warehouse Church.
