Susan (Jenkins) Quintero September 30, 1940 ~ March 26, 2015 Susan (Jenkins) Quintero, age 74, of Wenatchee, WA and formerly of Anacortes, WA, passed away March 26, 2015, from cancer. She was born September 30, 1940, in Anacortes, to Violet and Gordon Jenkins. Her siblings are Cheryl, Sylvia, Marvin, Chuck, and Sande. Susan was a graduate of Anacortes High School and took classes in accounting at Wenatchee Valley College. She married Bill R. Beaty on September 18, 1961, and they raised their family together in Wenatchee. Later, after they separated, being a single parent for a while, she married Pedro Quintero on March 8, 1983. A devoted stay-at-home mother when the children were young, she was a leader of Bluebirds and Campfire Girls and made sure they were all proficient swimmers by enrolling them in swimming lessons and, of course, baseball. She also kept all of her children's report cards for every year. She worked at Cedargreens and The Lighthouse for 15 years. Later, she worked at Sun Mart, and the Handi Mart in Monitor, WA. She was also self employed as a book keeper and tax preparer for individuals and businesses. She was a member of the Eagles and a top shooter every year in the Women's Pool League, with many state titles and trophies. She was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, crochet and knitting and, especially, baseball. She was a BIG Mariner's fan and, in her retirement, loved to follow her grandson, Andrew, in traveling to watch his baseball games. She was a very non-judgmental, generous, kind soul, with a great wit and sense of humor, who was dearly loved by SO many people. She is survived by her sister, Cheryl Pierce; brothers, Marvin Jenkins and Chuck Jenkins; sister, Sande Jenkins Sandbom and husband, Rick; daughters, Denise Moses, Selena Markham, and Charla Hobbs; sons, Allen Jenkins and William Beaty; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and too many nieces and nephews to count. Predeceased by her mother and father, Violet and Gordon Jenkins; and sister, Sylvia Maine. An informal Memorial gathering will be held at the Wenatchee Confluence State Park on Saturday, April 11, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. It is suggested to wear something red, her favorite color. A celebration will also be held in Anacortes at Sunset Beach at a later date. There is nothing so strong as gentleness, and nothing so gentle as strength within oneself.
