Teri Wickens

Teri passed away peacefully in Wenatchee on Tuesday, February 13 and has entered into the hands of our Lord. She was 69 years old. Teri was born in Wenatchee WA, on August 23 to Wilbur “Coke” and Patricia Dorn. She was one of four children and was in the last graduating class from the old Wenatchee High School in 1972. After graduation she worked at Robinson’s in Wenatchee as a Sales Clerk. She later moved to Bellevue to work for Nordstrom as an Assistant Manager. She also worked for Quinn Manufacturing Inc. as an Office Manager. She then moved back to Wenatchee to work for Lamonts Family Clothing Store as the Area Sales and Operations Manager. She then had a career move as she went to work for Cashmere Valley Bank as a Bank Teller and later at US Bank as a Loan Clerk. On November 5, 1983, she married John F. Wickens surrounded by friends and family. They stayed in the Wenatchee area to grow their love and family. They were married for 40 wonderful years. They welcomed their daughter Sara Wickens in 1997. The family enjoyed spending their time together at their cabin at Lake Wenatchee, skiing at Mission Ridge, camping on the Oregon Coast, gardening and planning their next great vacation adventure. Teri was kind, funny, and creative and loved being surrounded by family, friends and community. She was an avid seamstress and put her passion to work helping with costumes for Wenatchee High School Drama productions for many years. She was a part of the same bible study group for more than 20 years and met weekly with a group of friends for coffee. After retirement, she spent a few years working for the Auditor's Office during elections counting ballots and taking care of her late father until his passing. She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur V. “Coke” and Patricia L. Dorn, and twin brother Jeffrey Dorn. She is survived by her husband, John F. Wickens, daughter, Sara Wickens, stepson Matthew and wife Jen Wickens, brother Mike and wife Kelly Dorn, and brother Bill Dorn. A Celebration of Life will be held at Chapel of The Valley 378 Eastmont Ave, East Wenatchee March 26th at 11:00.
