Obituary

Dan Olen Burris entered into Heaven March 1, 2020 with his daughter and ex-wife by his side following a lengthy battle with cancer. Dan was born May 16,1947 in Wenatchee, Washington to "Tom" Jesse Olen and Ruby Avis (Hart) Burris. He was the first of three with a sister Cheryl Avis Burris and brother Jack Thomas Burris to follow. He was a life long resident of Wenatchee.

Dan met his future wife MaryAnn Woodbury through his cousin Charles "Chuck" Burris who had married MaryAnn's sister Marie. Dan and MaryAnn were married December 21, 1974. He gained a large extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was especially close to Chuck, Marie, and their three children Michael, Angela, and Randy. He and MaryAnn would become parents to one daughter, Crystal. Dan and MaryAnn would later divorce in 1985, but remain friends throughout the following years.

Dan worked as a CNA at many area nursing facilities in a career that lasted over 40 years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed art. In recent years, gardening became more difficult, so he returned to art especially drawing. He was a serious movie buff and loved classics.

Dan is proceeded in death by his parents Tom and Ruby Burris, his infant sister Cheryl Burris, and his brother Jack Burris. He is survived by his daughter Crystal Burris, his ex-wife MaryAnn Burris, Chuck and Marie Burris, their three children Michael Burris, Angela (Burris) Oeck, Randy Burris, Angela's children his great niece and nephew Ashley (Brandon) Bradley and Blake Oeck who were great sources of pride for him, his brother Jack's daughter, his niece Cherie Burris as well as a large extended family.

A special thank you to Dr. Julia Moukharskaya and the Oncology Department of Confluence Health, the wonderful nurses in the infusion room who are truly angels among us, and the Hospice staff for all of their support.
