Obituary

Gisela Luzia Farrell, 88, died September 8, 2020, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, Washington. At her request, no service will be held, although she will be laid to rest with her husband Clyde at a later date.
Gisela was born in Hennersdorf, Germany. She met her husband, Clyde, on a blind dinner date while he was stationed in Germany with the Air Force. They married in 1959. After their daughter Mary was born, they came back stateside and daughter TJ was born in California. Following moves to Montana and Wyoming, she lived most of her life in Colorado, settling in Erie with Clyde for their retirement. She recently moved to Wenatchee, Washington to be closer to her two daughters.
Gisela was a strong and tenacious woman, who loved and valued her circle of friends and neighbors in Erie. She worked for many years at Head Start and at Pace Membership Warehouse, and remained very independent at assisted living. Her death was not COVID-19 related, and was due to complications from dementia.
She is survived by her brother, Fr. Horst, SJ, of Harare, Zimbabwe, her daughters Mary (Charles) of Fairbanks, AK and TJ of Wenatchee, and her grandson Michael of Fairbanks, AK.
