Obituary

Wanda Louis McCandless Bunch went peacefully to be with her Savior, on March 6, 2020, at age 92. She was born March 9, 1927, in Springfield, MO, to Maurice and Hazel McCandless. She shared her birthday with one daughter, and one great-granddaughter. Her family left Missouri when she was six years old and moved out West.

She married George Harvey, (deceased) and they had three girls: Sharon (deceased), Juanita, and Colleen. During George's naval career, they traveled the world. With her second husband, Frank Lara, she had three children: Wanda, Frank, and Joanna (deceased). She then pursued a career in nursing and graduated as an RN. Later in life, she married Al Bunch, now deceased.

She spent 40 years working as an RN, which she loved, and was an accomplished artist. She painted many pictures and sold some, too.

She will be remembered for her love of God, family, others, and the many people she helped along her journey.

Wanda will be lovingly remembered by her surviving children: Juanita Potter, Colleen (Archie) Sasser, Wanda (Paul) Hebron, and Frank Lara; adopted grandchildren: Rachel (Lara) Knutson and Joseph (Lara) Lee; sisters: Nadine Fairbanks, Polly McElroy, Connie (Dave) Swift, and Carol (Kirk) Adams; brother, Gene McCandless, 22 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Kenneth and Richard McCandless; and sister, Joyce Rash.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., at the Wenatchee First Assembly of God, 1520 McKittrick St., Wenatchee, WA. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2020, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, 302 9th St., Wenatchee, WA. Memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517. Arrangements are by Chapel of the Valley, Wenatchee, WA.
